About George

George is a Partner in HFW’s Shipping team. He has more than 30 years of experience focusing on crisis management, wet and dry shipping, cross-border fraud, banking and international trade dispute practices. He has a wealth of experience in the civil and criminal aspects of maritime casualties, including collisions, salvage, groundings, piracy, marine insurance, wreck removal and total loss. George’s work often involves challenging issues of crisis management, in both maritime and commercial situations. He is well known for his kidnap for ransom and piracy work.

George is qualified in New Zealand, Hong Kong and England and Wales, where he is also admitted as a solicitor-advocate in the civil and criminal courts.
